Annapolis Fog: Evening Backdrop Portfolio

The series Annapolis Fog: Evening Backdrop is a project intended to replicate an experience from my childhood. Realizing that I
had forgotten a toy while playing with friends in a forest, I returned alone and suddenly found myself in very dark, dense, and
unfamiliar surroundings. Even though I was terrified, I remember taking notice of the stunning rays of dusk sun light produced by
tall trees in the mist. It illuminated portions of the forest in a way I had not previously experienced.

Later in life, I discovered that fog with light from nighttime sources produces an intriguing effect on even the most common
scenery (trees, buildings, water, piers, benches, even a US Navy Blue Angels jet). This natural backdrop alters elements of an
image to the extent that one may not even recognize the subject matter as something seen every day. This series of black and
white photos of fog was captured in Annapolis, Maryland USA on two evenings between the hours of 9 and midnight.
